HireAbility supports Chinese

2014 is the year of the horse based on the Chinese zodiac. While this tidbit has nothing to do with resume parsing the contents of this blog certainly do. ALEX, our world-class resume/CV and job order parsing software now speaks Chinese! Chinese is the 15th language supported by the ALEX parsing software.

Parsing Chinese documents poses a number of unique challenges. One of the first hurdles was adding full support for multi-byte character sets. This was initially addressed last year when we began supporting Russian. Another obstacle typically associated with parsing Chinese is that of segmentation. In many languages words are separated by a space and sentences end with some form of familiar punctuation such as a period, exclamation point or question mark. The Chinese language has different punctuation’s and often there is no spacing between words. ALEX was able to overcome this due to the unique way we handle this step of the process for our other supported languages as well.

Like all of the languages supported by the ALEX resume parser there is no limit to how many languages you use in a resume/CV or job order. ALEX can switch between languages with ease. Have a resume with Chinese and English? No problem!
