Software Engineering
Description: Senior Software Engineer the Network Management Systems Group. Server side development which will use Weblogic and Java.
Key Responsibilities Modeling the administrative and operational features of the device to provide an object-oriented (CORBA) management interface for use by the policy management software module.
Extensive interaction with both the device-side and policy management, engineers to understand, model, and implement a management interface exposing the various features of the device.
Maintain & enhance the Common Management Library (CML) which provides a framework for writing management code.
Design, implement, review and test software throughout the development process.
Will use the following:
C++ and Standard Template Library (STL)
Basic Coding, Object Oriented Design
Data Structures and Algorithms
Program in multithreaded and distributed systems environment
CORBA interface definition and implementation
Ethernet, SONET, and SDH
ATM, Frame Relay, and MPLS
IPv4, IPv6, and related protocols
SNMP
Networking knowledge Qualifications Required
The minimum educational requirement is a Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related field, plus 2 years of experience as a software developer. Experience in C++, STL, basic coding, data structures and algorithms required. In addition, prior experience with two or more of the following skills is also required: multithreaded programming, object oriented design, CORBA or networking knowledge. Education in lieu of experience may be accepted. We want people who have experience working on distributed systems, writing their own servers, if they have network management experience along with Weblogic/J2EE, hibernate, Spring, Java that would be great
