Responsibilities
1) Assist the product renovation/innovation development process for all quality aspects
2) Support company factories to successfully launch innovated/renovated products applying the right quality criteria
3) Test and implement new technology and improve on QA aspects of products
4) Ensure technical and quality assessment, follow-up and assistance to co-packers as well as suppliers for new and existing products
5) Make sure compliance of all innovation/renovation activities meet with company requirements
6) Identify which quality assistance needs to be given to new product projects by working with the relevant marketing and factory staff
7) Draw up (challenge) testing and trial protocols
8) Set-up QA requirements for innovation/renovation projects
9) Ensure that all necessary and/or compulsory testing before a product launch (challenge tests, taste tests, 60/40, microbiological tests, storage and shelf life tests, etc.) have been done and have proven favorable
10) Provide final vote in the ‘release to market decision’ of renovated/innovated products
11) Screen, select, try and implement new technology for factories
12) Improve on the safety and quality aspects of spring water, lines and finished products
13) Run the co-packer quality assistance and FSMS audit programs
14) Support all Quality Management System (QMS) activities related to innovation/ renovation
15) Set quality criteria (norms/specifications) for innovated/renovated products under study, with special attention to microbiological safety and stability in case of formulated waters
16) Advise all involved in innovation/renovation of products of the quality criteria expected in innovated/renovated products
17) Create (challenge) test protocols for innovated/renovated products under development to ensure their food safety and quality
18) Write pre-HACCP and pre-QMS programs for innovated/renovated products
19) Coach and be present during factory trials for innovated/renovated products where important quality aspects play a role
20) Guarantee that a product launch meets all quality, safety and possible other criteria
Requirements
1) Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/Biological Science or other relevant technical field (Master’s preferred)
2) Minimum 5 years of experience in food/beverage (beverage preferred) and experience in managing a factory
3) Knowledge of SPC, HACCP, sanitation and hygienic design
4) Understanding of manufacturing and supply chain operations, innovation/renovation (NPDI process)
5) Knowledge of raw materials (ingredients and packaging), food safety and quality
6) Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
7) Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills
8) Self-starter who works with minimal direct supervision and has the ability to influence change
