Our client is a publicly owned manufacturer of ready to-eat food products. The company has been in operation for more than 25 years and has annual sales of over $10M.
Responsibilities
1) Supervise shift-based quality control technologists and food microbiologists
2) Monitor SSOP and food safety programs
3) Track and document product physical and sensory standards in a continuous quality improvement environment
4) Implement a defined HACCP program with the Production Technologist for start-up of a new state-of-the-art food manufacturing facility
5) Collect and analyze process data for interval reporting and corrective action
6) Communicate daily, weekly and monthly reports against KPIs
7) Work with the QA Technologist and ensure all regulatory standards are met
8) Manage daily product quality and food safety systems
9) Work with Quality and R&D teams and provide guidance on product and process issues
10) Support the QA and Purchasing groups specific to material conformance and standards
Requirements
1) Bachelor’s degree
2) Minimum 5 years of experience in the food/beverage industry with expertise in GMP, HACCP, SPC, allergen and pest control programs
3) Experience in supervising teams in a food QC environment and in continuous improvement systems as well as lab management
4) SAP and formulation software experience a plus
5) Working knowledge of AIB, NSF, FDA, USDA, 3rd party inspection norms including basics of nutrition and ingredient labeling standards
6) Proven leadership and training skills in GMPs, HACCP and SSOP
7) Food development and recipe management skills
