Qualifications / Skills Required
1) 4-year degree (MBA preferred)
2) Minimum 10 years of experience in process-oriented manufacturing
3) Record of achieving results, including management of third party manufacturing (domestic and international locations)
4) Experience in running sophisticated supply chains (domestic and international) along with cross functional experience
5) Record of effective unit cost reduction in a manufacturing environment, including contract manufacturing
6) Knowledge of confectionary or sugar/food sourcing and global markets
7) Excellent analytical, strategic, communication and implementation skills
8) Proactive with a hands-on approach to problem solving with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
9) Strong customer mindset with a passion for serving customer needs
10) Bilingual in Spanish a plus
Partial Job Description
1) Support both new and existing products to company's domestic and international markets
2) Work with the Vice President Operations to lead a transformation of the current sourcing strategy optimizing
3) Optimize flexibility/control, total delivered cost, quality as well as speed to market/lead time for new/existing products as well as reduction in total inventory while improving customer service levels
4) Identify geographic areas and partners for sourcing and lead the development of business cases behind these initiatives
5) Evaluate optimum sourcing and storage strategies to drive rapid capture of P&L and balance sheet savings opportunities
6) Balance capacity utilization and co-packer agreements
7) Investigate new sources for raw materials and product components.
8) Evaluate and benchmark the current sourcing network to create a master grid
9) Develop and implement systems which will benchmark total delivered cost and the components which drive total delivered cost
10) Evaluate warehousing and distribution operations along with alternatives recommended which will meet the stated objectives
11) Contribute to development and implementation of fully integrated supply chain strategies
12) Demonstrate a deep understanding of the overall business strategy and its relationship with suppliers and key customer channels
13) Ensure sufficient supply of materials to enable optimum production
14) Develop a balanced score card to enable the qualification, start up, monitoring and measurement of the suppliers and partners
15) Work with Marketing and R&D to develop suppliers to move products to market in the shortest time possible
16) Respond to emergencies or special issues through to resolution
17) Develop and implement cost savings initiatives while ensuring imperceptible difference to the consumer and maintenance of quality standards
