Our client is a privately owned manufacturer of frozen food products. The company has been in operation for more than 25 years and employs over 50 people.
Responsibilities
1) Develop and lead the facility's management team and handle all facets of the operations
2) Meet scheduled production and oversee materials management/warehousing
3) Manage and maintain all capital equipment and premises
4) Ensure a safe and healthy work environment through training and support
5) Represent the company in union relations
6) Oversee regulatory and audit compliance of manufacturing activities established by municipal, provincial and federal authorities as well as QA department and collective agreements
7) Ensure establishment and execution of SOP
8) Oversee promotion, implementation and support of all food safety programs as determined by the Director of Technical Services, such as HACCP and SQF
9) Assist in determining capital requirements and implementation of capital projects
10) Facilitate continuous improvement through effective problem solving, training and communication strategies
11) Initiate hiring, discipline, training and effective supervision of all manufacturing staff as well as professional development of management team members
12) Oversee all operating results including line efficiencies, labor costs and factory overheads
Requirements
1) 7+ years of strong processing experience with minimum 2 years in bakery (frozen food products)
2) Experience in capital projects and strong expertise in management as well as leadership
3) Engineering/mechanical background preferred
4) Strong mechanical aptitude
