Our client is a privately owned manufacturer of food and beverage products. The company has been in operation for more than 25 years and has annual sales of over $10M.
Responsibilities
1) Prepare all tools, samples, chemicals, media and equipment for the analysis
2) Conduct testing on a wide variety of samples (finished product, raw materials, water, environmental sampling, etc.) according to testing schedule (microbiological, chemical and physical tests)
3) Carry-out routine tasks accurately
4) Ensure the laboratory is well stocked and resourced
5) Maintain and operate standard laboratory equipment
6) Follow strict safety procedures and safety checks
7) Record all microbiological, chemical and physical analysis results
8) Ensure all equipment and glassware in the laboratory is sterilized and ready to use
9) Make sure the cleaning program in the laboratory is well implemented including the accuracy and completeness of the analysis results
10) Understand manufacturing risks with relation to food safety issues
11) Ensure the company policies and statements are applied continuously and that the company’s statements and policies are continually reviewed and amended to avoid breach of any local or statutory legislation
12) Ensure that all records and the documentation of technical issues are made
13) Perform continuous follow-up of the tasks to achieve the best results
Requirements
1) Minimum 3 years of experience in quality and food safety along with a strong science background
2) Non-unionized individual preferred
3) Willingness to work unusual hours as needed to rebuild plant
