PRODUCT MARKET ENGINEER-Rockport, MA
JOB HIGHLIGHTS
• Coordinates the product/sales engineering and marketing activities within the medical and healthcare markets segment/strategic product lines-injection molded medical device products.
• Responsible for achieving sales objectives, product management and segment strategy formulation.
• Conceptualizes and defines new and/or modified processes and equipment as well as the accurate quotation of manufacturing costs as they relate to plant P&L.
• This position must also accept the responsibility in contributing solutions to producing the highest quality products under the systematic approach of ISO 9001:2003 and ISO 13485.
JOB DUTIES
• Coordinates all new sales opportunities as well as assists in the development of new strategic market targets, ultimately managing the sales execution.
• Oversees all pricing and quotations regarding new business opportunities
• Proactively seeks and books new business for house accounts.
• Participates in developing the annual sales forecast and updates as necessary
• Establishes and maintains management level contacts with key accounts
• Manages the development of design standards, cost standards and pricing standards to expedite and provide input for continuous of the quotation process
• Routinely develops new and update cost models with P&L changes.
• Assists in the creation of new and updated BOM’s.
• Develops market segment strategies leveraging core competencies to include promotional materials, market research activities, account strategies and competitive market analysis in order to guide segment sales and marketing activities.
• Facilitates and participates in APQP process and insures action items are being completed.
• Coordinate with Project/Program managers the status of all applicable launches to ensure that both the customers and plant objectives are obtained.
• Support both the customer and outside sales force with technical assistance as required.
• Update the executive management monthly on launch status, commercial pipeline, and project/program financials.
• Aid with short and long term planning for capital expenditures.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum of BS or BA in a related technical field ( Engineering, Chemistry, Plastics, etc)
• Must have 5-7 years experience in related molded medical device product lines and markets.
• Strong engineering knowledge of injection molding product designs and processes.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Must have the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once.
