Our client is a privately owned manufacturer of baked goods. The company has been in operation for more than 10 years and has annual sales revenue of over $25M.
Responsibilities
1) Maintain/improve cost of operations on all production and distribution processes
2) Set benchmarks and lead the team through steps to achieve them
3) Maintain/improve productivity standards
4) Ensure that production schedules and results are communicated to the entire plant staff
5) Handle all aspects of the processing operation including budgeting, planning, directing as well as operational and financial forecasting
6) Ensure safe, efficient and quality operation
7) Provide leadership, direction as well as training to employees to accomplish company goals and objectives
8) Coordinate manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers
9) Obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machinery as well as equipment
10) Provide inputs to the development of product strategy along with research and development of new and emerging products
11) Participate in management activities to support the company's long-term plans
Requirements
1) Degree (4 year) preferred
2) Minimum 8 years of experience in baked goods (bread preferred) and prior experience as a Plant Manager
3) Experience Lean Manufacturing and/or Kaizen
4) Knowledge of heat processing a plus
5) Self-starter with hands-on approach (not a delegator)
