Our client is a privately owned manufacturer of organic foods. The company has been in operation for more than 10 years and has annual sales of over $5M.
Responsibilities
1) Lead development, implementation and maintenance of quality programs such as GMP, HACCP Organic and Kosher
2) Develop, implement and manage SOPs for production and packaging processes, inspection processes, handling of raw materials, in-process and finished goods
3) Ensure that outgoing products conform to established quality parameters as well as regulatory and food safety requirements
4) Manage the daily operation of micro laboratory and technical staff
5) Verify labeling accuracy - work with operations, plant management as well as senior management
6) Develop and control the site, production environment and processes
7) Ensure the smooth and timely flow of goods and services without compromising quality and production objectives
8) Assist production in the investigation and resolution of quality incidents
9) Serve as primary quality resource for problem identification and resolution
10) Provide technical support and advice to customers and internal departments regarding products specifications and processes
11) Train all employees on various topics
Requirements
1) Degree (4 year)
2) 5+ years of experience with expertise in the development/implementation/maintenance of quality programs
3) Familiarity with CFIA rules and regulations, HACCP, GMP, SOP, Organic and Kosher
4) Knowledge of Manitoba HACCP, Advantage, Food Safety and regulatory compliance
5) Strong analytical/communication/technical skills
