PRINT / FINISHING ENGINEER
Elmira, NY area
DUTIES:
• Interface with Design, R/D, Marketing, New Product Development and Manufacturing groups.
• Define existing decorating and finishing capabilities and constraints to include mechanical use/application of printing, colors, trim, logos, trademarks, etc.
• Coordinate all related production finishing/decorating equipment processes.
• Ensure successful process is transferred to manufacturing.
• Leads/oversees new product development trials.
• Investigate/recommend/execute/validate new equipment and material capabilities.
• Conduct technical update reviews with the plants.
• Support prototype process.
• Ensure compliance to project budgets.
• Assist in business case development.
• Provide decorating expertise and technology advancement- annealing/tempering.
• Investigate/recommend/validate material improvements and cost reductions.
• Assist in troubleshooting and process enhancement of current processes.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 4 year Engineering degree-BSME, BS ChemEng, BSIE, Packaging, Plastics, etc.
• Experience with high volume consumer household or home products.
• Experience working with New Product Development, Marketing & Manufacturing.
• Experience developing and implementing new decorating capabilities at production facilities.
• Experience designing/building printing equipment, or technical sales/support of printing equipment.
• Experience comprehending and utilizing new product/prototype designs.
• Strong interaction skills & ability to act as project leader.
• Strong computer skills.
