JOB TITLE: Director, Storage Technologies
REPORTS TO: Vice President, Enterprise Services
OVERVIEW:
This position is immediately available due to the growth of the storage organization. This position will manage a team of 20 associates dedicated to designing, implementing, operating and maintaining the storage environment. This includes all domestic facilities of the organization.
The ideal candidate will have a successful track record and appreciation for the challenge of managing a large and growing environment through a difficult transition of technology. The ideal candidate will also prefer an environment that is low on politics, but high on accountability. This position is highly visible and has a direct impact on the overall organization. An individual who excels in this position will have an excellent opportunity for internal development and promotion in the future.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide overall leadership to a team of 20 (including 2 managers) responsible for enterprise initiatives including backup, archiving, de-duplication and storage systems.
• Manage an overall budget of $10MM, and apply expertise to achieve financial and operational objectives
• Performs all aspects of normal personnel functions including staffing, development, discipline, compensation, performance evaluations and coaching.
• Responsible for budget forecasting and monitoring expenditures within budgetary limits to ensure sound fiscal control.
• Contributes to functional strategy development

• Must be able to anticipate internal/external business issues and construct meaningful strategies to address future scenarios.
• Must develop relationships with key internal/external customers to identify emerging needs and business challenges.
• Must be able to influence customer and/or organizational leadership through effective listening and communication to accomplish operational objectives.

Qualifications / Background
• Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
• 5 to 10 years of direct staff supervision responsibility with a proven track record of customer satisfaction and delivery of results.
• Must have extensive knowledge of infrastructure - specifically storage systems including SAN fabric (Brocade switches, fabric design), SAN Volume Controllers, DS8000 and DS5000 storage systems, Avamar, Onaro, Netapps VTL, and Symantec Netbackup technologies.
• Working knowledge of server configuration, network technologies, databases, and application design.
• Requires experience managing multiple teams in excess of 20 members in a 24x7 production environment.
• Experience managing budgets with accountability for $10MM or more in assets.
