Responsibilities
1) Manage the plant annual and capital budget
2) Direct department activities to modify and improve production techniques
3) Maintain GMPs at the highest level in all areas of duty
4) Improve the depth and quality of the Engineering Department as well as encourage development
5) Establish standards and policies for installation, commissioning and starting up, according to engineering principles and safety regulations
6) Manage facility of 10,000 sq. ft. and a new one of 80,000 sq. ft.
7) Ensure newly installed machines and equipment fulfill contract specifications
8) Ensure preparedness and feasibility, including cost estimates, schedule and implementation
9) Plan and manage departmental budget
10) Oversee projects/renovations from $20K to $2M
11) Direct the preventive maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment and electrical systems
Requirements
1) Degree (4 year) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
2) 10 – 15 years of experience of working in a bakery environment with conveyors, oven, freezers, etc.
3) Experience in a similar role (bakery preferred)
4) Expertise in continuous improvement, Kaizen, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
5) Strong leadership and training skills for direct reports
