Application Engineer

Description:
We are in search of an Application Engineer. The successful candidate will perform the activities concerned with responding to a customer’s inquiry or purchase order for material handling equipment or parts by performing the following duties:
• Act as liaison between customer and the company.
• Review customer product specifications to determine and guarantee the appropriate equipment for customer’s application is being provided.
• Determine if the customer request can be filled with standard product or if it requires a special engineered product.
• Work with the Engineering Department to determine the feasibility of designing and the design of the special equipment.
• Confirm with production personnel the feasibility to manufacture and to obtain an estimate of production time.
• Work with Production Control to analyze the current production schedule and schedule production in plant.
• Confirm delivery date with customer.
• Work with Purchasing to obtain quotes for nonstandard parts, components, and features from outside sources and issues purchase requisitions.
• Negotiate specification changes, pricing and delivery dates as required.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree with three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
