Qualifications / Skills Required
1) Bachelor’s degree in Science with at least 8 years of experience or Master’s degree in a scientific discipline with at least 5 years of experience or a Ph. D. in Nutrition
2) Minimum 5 years of experience in the animal agriculture, animal health or pet food industries
3) Previous experience in a technical service role introducing new products and concepts to targeted customer and or markets in conjunction with Sales and Marketing
4) Knowledge of feed formulation, feed additives and ingredients used by the industry
5) Strong understanding of the pet food and/or rendering industries
6) Demonstrated success in working with the Sales Team to obtain product sales through effective use of technical services
7) Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with a minimal English proficiency level of Intermediate High as defined in the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines
8) Excellent people interaction skills as well as ability and willingness to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
9) Self-motivated to accomplish business and personal objectives
10) Strong analytical skills in applied research and commercial testing with experience in field research studies and product development trials
11) Ability to recognize sales opportunities and determine appropriate action in conjunction with the Account Manager
12) Experienced in marketing concepts and applications and demonstrated experience in implementing technical service market plans
13) Ability to work in cross-functional teams to achieve customer and product objectives, including R&D, Regulatory Affairs and Operations
14) Well-organized and effective planner in using resources along
15) Ability to demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness as market needs dictate
16) Computer proficiency in MS Office
Partial Job Description
1) Provide technical sales support to assigned current and potential customers in order to demonstrate company product effectiveness
2) Adhere to the company Code of Conduct Policy in all activities
3) Represent company in a professional and knowledgeable manner that provides assurance to customers of company’s capabilities
4) Work closely with the Account and Product Manager in identifying opportunities as well as establishing goals and strategies
5) Implement actions to meet business objectives
6) Identify evaluation criteria and needs, design protocols, initiate tests with customers and coordinate testing parameters with R&D
7) Report findings to customers in a confidential and standard format
8) Demonstrate technical and communication skills in meeting customer needs with the company products
9) Assist in customer business development, new product evaluation and testing and current product line extension development
10) Assist in determining true product differential advantages
11) Provide poultry technical product training to the company team
12) Participate in the Technical Service Team interfacing with R&D
13) Provide technical input for customer questions and work with Sales/Marketing to resolve customer technical issues
