Our client is a publicly owned manufacturer of beverages. The company has been in operation for more than 25 years and has annual sales of over $1B.
Responsibilities
1) Manage product supply chain purchasing for the North American Operations of the company’s global business unit product supply chain
2) Collaborate with group purchasing to execute procurement activities on global categories
3) Manage all aspects of local categories in the product supply chain area
4) Develop and implement purchasing strategies in accordance with the company guidelines
5) Implement purchasing policies on global categories as well as ensure the fulfillment of quality, service and cost control standards
6) Collaborate with group purchasing in searching, selecting and evaluating suppliers and alternative materials on global categories
7) Support group purchasing in executing performance reviews with US-based global vendors
8) Ensure adequate forecasting, reporting and controlling on business unit purchasing activities, based on group defined reporting service levels in local categories
10) Negotiate for local categories and identify vendor selection
11) Forecast and deliver cost savings through procurement best practices and innovative approaches
12) Develop reporting tools and processes to ensure that local product supply chain is in compliance with the business unit and group budgeting and its reporting
13) Support product supply chain partners with vendor performance reviews
14) Develop local categories standardized for contract templates incorporating group guidelines (metrics, quality specifications, service level expectations, inventory management requirements, etc.)
15) Support product supply chain and other business unit partners in evaluating and negotiating for a wide variety of categories and services
Requirements
1) Bachelor’s degree
2) 5+ years of experience in purchasing materials for packaged consumer goods companies at an international level
3) Experience in other product supply chain areas preferred
4) Consumer products experience along with beverage industry experience a plus
5) Previous experience working in international and bi-cultural business environments
6) Proficiency in using enterprise-class systems (SAP preferred)
7) Proficiency in English/Spanish
8) Willingness to travel (up to 30%)
