Our client is a privately owned manufacturer of pasta and dried noodles. The company has been in operation for more than 25 years and has over $1B in annual sales.
Responsibilities
1) Coordinate and execute programs to ensure that the quality and food safety production of company brands are consistent with standards established by the Director, Quality & Food Safety
2) Handle all company plants
3) Act as the Vendor Assurance Professional for Raw Materials, Packaging Materials, Finished Products and Logistics providers
4) Diffuse the company tools for Quality & Food Safety management system (HACCP, Integrated Pest Management, GMP, GDP) and guarantee their correct application and improvement
5) Ensure that all the measures to guarantee finished product compliance with specifications are properly executed
6) Coordinate the plant quality control activities by following established guidelines, methods and assistance
7) Work closely with Purchasing and R&D units in applying the company’s set of vendor assurance tools
8) Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) on Quality and Food Safety and use them to promote continuous improvement
9) Be recognized as the technical reference supporting all company departments for quality-related issues
10) Identify and lead cost reduction/effectiveness improvement projects
11) Support the company Complaint Management System in the U. S
12) Provide prompt, accurate information and documentation in case of Food Safety Crisis
Requirements
1) Bachelor’s Degree in Quality or a related field
2) 7+ years of experience
3) 2+ years CPG and/or food company experience
4) 3+ years of experience in quality including root cause analysis, quality management, continuous improvement and non-conformities, corrective and preventive actions
5) Corporate and project management experience
6) Experience in quality tools such as QMS projects, ISO 9001:2000
7) Food safety experience (preferred)
8) Food background (pasta knowledge preferred)
9) Proven track record in continuous improvement in the quality arena through the use of quality management tools
10) Strong project management skills/capabilities
11) Strong written and verbal communication skills
12) Willingness and ability to travel (up to 30%) – domestic with the possibility of international travel
