My client is a global investment bank, seeking an experienced risk professional who has a strong stress testing background.

My client needs to increase its stress testing capability due to business expansion and also the increase in regulatory requirements. Previously stress testing was performed within market risk or credit exposure but not across all risk classes simultaneously nor on a firm wide basis. As such a new team has been created to fulfil these obligations..

The successful candidates will be expected to perform:

- stress testing at a firm-wide level across all risk classes (market, credit, operational, - - stress testing at a firm-wide level within risk class and trading book levels
- feeding stress testing results into other business processes such as stressed revenues, capital planning, decision making and regulatory capital
- satisfy the FSA's scenario requests and other infrastructure and control requirements

As well as the above candidates must have excellent communication skills as they wil be expected to liaise with Risk Managers to confirm and corroborate scenario and stress testing results, produce and explain stress testing reports for distribution to senior management and regulators, work with front office and other risk managers to review current portfolio risks and trading strategies in order to develop new scenarios / improve current scenarios to fully address market risks etc.

This is a demanding role but it is also a role that would suit someone who is looking to not only work as part of a team but play an important role in forming and shaping a new group. To succeed in this role you will need to demonstrate a high level of similar experience gained within an investment bank, and due to the nature of the group a strong VBA knowledge will be essential.
