Position Summary
Responsible for definition of system, software & hardware requirements and their subsequent management and verification through development and qualification testing.
Scope of Responsibilities
Emphasis will be on requirements management (traceability, decomposition, change impact analysis, etc.) and verification/validation efforts in support of a structured development process to meet industry-standard guidelines.
Support customer requirements definition meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and technical interchange meetings by preparing presentation materials and Supplier Data Requirements List (SDRL) items.
Interface with program managers and other team members from various disciplines in order to ensure proposed systems will meet manufacturability requirements and customer expectations.
Project leadership involving resource management, metrics generation, and status reporting.
Proposal preparation and related activities.
Review of test cases, procedures, and test results in accordance with DO-178B, DO-254, DO-160, and other standard requirements.
Preparation and review of verification and validation plans and reports.
Travel to customer sites may be required.
Integration and verification of software and avionics hardware.
Planning and oversight of trade studies.
Support of the sustaining engineering of existing products from a requirement management and test point of view.

Position reports to Manager, Systems Engineering
Experience
Required:
Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through ten or more years of related experience, five or more years with related Masters Degree.
Knowledge, Skills and Job Responsibilities
Technical:
Experience with DO-178B, DO-160 and DO-254 Verification and Validation Activities
Experience in electronic hardware and firmware design, typically with products related to avionics and/or flight controls.
Experience using one or more of the available requirements management tools such as DOORS, Requisite Pro, Reqtify, etc.
Experience using modern configuration management, problem reporting, and action item tracking tools.
