From the Desk of Andrew Stock You asked for it and now it's here. Each month Andrew Stock will provide you with the latest and greatest about HireAbility's Recruiter Network.
Below is an example of how an independent recruiter based in San Jose, California used the HireAbility recruiting network to generate two split placements in his first six weeks as a HireAbility member. We'll refer to our member as "Tom".
Background: Tom is an independent recruiter and has been self-employed since 2001 Lately, he has more job openings than he can possibly fill on his own. Therefore, Tom joined HireAbility's recruiting network in order to find 'split placement' partners through Talent Trader --, HireAbility's social recruiter networking platform.
Tom chose to join as a basic member. This membership level carries no cost and serves as a good first step for Tom to evaluate the network. Tom began participating in all of the social networking features in Talent Trader to see what types of recruiters were on the network. He also searches 'blinded' versions of the jobs and candidates as posted by other members on the Placement Exchange (the 'split placement' section of Talent Trader). Within the first few days of his membership, Tom saw many job orders, candidates, and other members in the network with whom he could partner.
Tom decided to upgrade his membership to the Professional Member level, which made contact information for all other members viewable, enabling him to proactively search and contact other members to work with. Upgrading his account gives him the ability to post all of his open job orders on the Placement Exchange, which even sent an email to all other members that work the same types of jobs as Tom.

Why Franchise When Opening a Search Firm? Increasing desire of professionals to own their own business coupled with Explosion of Talent Acquisition Industry makes franchising a ripe choice by Tom Johnston, President and Founder of SearchPath International
As the war for talent escalates, the need for high-performing search consultants to help companies manage their talent acquisition needs is growing exponentially. Those fortunate enough to have an established search firm are experiencing one of the best markets in recent history. If considering opening a firm, the timing could not be better. It is a great time to be a search consultant.
There are three traditional avenues available to those in the industry or considering entering search. The first is to work for an established firm. Due the high demand for services, most organizations within the staffing and recruiting industry are aggressively hiring talent. This option is how most people begin their careers in Talent Acquisition.
The next option is to simply start a search firm as an independent. This can be a bit risky, but there is a wealth of resources that make this a very real option for the true entrepreneur.
The final option is to join an established franchise organization. Some of the largest and most successful search organizations are built on this type of platform. There are more than 1,500 search firms throughout the world that are affiliated with a franchise and they cover searches ranging from entry level sales and management professionals to CEOs.

According to Danny by Danny Cahill
Hi Danny, We had a client that kept one of our temps on for 2 months. The assignment ended abruptly on a Friday and I called my temp on that Saturday to end it. Up to that phone call I hadn't received any notice that they weren't happy with our temp to let her go and find a replacement. Apparently she and the office manager weren't getting along and my temp sent an email to the office manager, bccing the office manager's manager. We sent the account to collection, this has been going since 2004. They counter claimed stating that our temp was disruptive to the office environment and almost made one of their employees quit. Danny, why keep a disruptive temp for two months is my question? Why did the office manager sign off on her timesheets? Why did they have her back week after week?
