Q: What's the difference between the Basic Network Member and a registered Corporate Recruiter?A: First, let's discuss what the two levels have in common. When you join the network, you'll be given access to Talent Trader, HireAbility's recruiter networking platform. As with many networking technologies, you'll have access to your peers through discussion groups, bulletins and other networking technologies. You'll also be able to access news and events that affect the staffing industry as well as exclusive offers to recruiter training seminars and other events. All of these functions make up the features of the Basic Network Membership. When you are registering for your basic account online, you'll also have the opportunity to register your account with HireAbility as a full-fledged "Corporate Recruiter" Upgrading your account to this level involves a simple online agreement, but carries no cost. Once upgraded, you will be provided access to the Placement Exchange on Talent Trader. Through the Placement Exchange, you will be able to search member profiles to locate staffing firms and independent recruiters experienced in filling the types of roles you currently have open. You are encouraged to directly contact and screen those members to locate the best possible agencies to meet your staffing goals. You dictate the placement fees, guarantee terms and processes by which you will work in order to cut down on your placement costs. When one of your positions is filled with a candidate provided by a HireAbility member, you will be invoiced by HireAbility, not the member that filled the position. Again, you dictate what you will be invoiced and when. You will be invoiced the placement fee offered plus 10% as HireAbility's brokerage fee. We invite you to view an example of how an actual user saved $36,000 under this program! Q: Does HireAbility provide access to any job boards or candidate databases?A: Talent Trader, HireAbility's recruiter networking platform, provides you with a built in candidate database of hundreds of thousands of candidates as well as all of the candidates uploaded by the hundreds of members of the recruiting network. You'll also be given special discounts for purchasing job postings on the HireAbility.com job board, established in 1998. The job board is a separate product offered by HireAbility and has little to do with the recruiting network except that as a member of the network, you'll receive special discounts on job posting purchases. The HireAbility job board is similar to other job boards in many ways except that job postings are also cross posted to several hundred external job boards free of charge. Q: If a Corporate Recruiter posts a job to the Placement Exchange, do they get flooded with recruiters calling them?A: The staffing firms and independent recruiters that are members of the network tend to be fairly senior (average member has over ten years in the staffing industry) and as such, they are very selective on which job orders they will work. Unlike the thousands of junior recruiters you may encounter that call you regularly, HireAbility members have hundreds of job orders to choose from and won't flock to you simply because you have job orders. Instead, members of the network are usually looking for job orders in their chosen area of specialty, in their geographic region as well as with the greatest likelihood of being a good investment of their time. They will compare various job orders based on their own ability fill the position, the placement fee amounts offered, guarantee terms, the amount of information you give them, your feedback on candidate submittals, the openness of your communication with them and whether they perceive your expectations to be realistic. It is important that you not only post your job orders where you need recruiting help, but that you sell yourself and the many reasons why members should be working your job orders instead of the hundreds of other positions posted on Talent Trader. In the end, you'll decide which members to allow access to your job orders and with whom you'll work on each of your posted positions. Q: If a registered Corporate Recruiter names a placement fee lower than normal, why would good staffing firms work on my jobs?A: Most staffing firms and independent recruiters are joining HireAbility with the expectation that they will be splitting a full sized/normal placement fee with another staffing firm or recruiter. By working with you, they are no longer splitting the fee with anyone else, so being paid a slightly lower than usual placement fee is actually more money than they might make splitting a 'full sized' fee with another staffing firm. And by offering and providing good information, fast feedback and a smooth hiring process, you can ensure that the best recruiters will return to you repeatedly to help you meet your hiring goals at the reduced placement fees you will offer. Q: What will a membership cost?A: Membership to the recruiting network is free of charge, regardless of whether you have an Basic Network Membership (the basic level that allows access to the networking functions only) or if you upgrade your account to the Corporate Recruiter (allowing access to the Placement Exchange and the hundreds of staffing firms under the 'name your own fee' scenario). Q: How do I qualify to join HireAbility?A: Basic Network Membership carries no qualifications except that you must be in the staffing industry. To upgrade to the Corporate Recruiter level, you must be an internal recruiter, human resources staff or hiring manager at a company that is hiring internal employees. When you upgrade to the Corporate Recruiter level, you must sign a member agreement indicating that you are not in the business of making a profit from the placement of candidates at any outside company and that candidates you are locating through HireAbility are solely for your internal use only. If you are in a role that involves placing candidates for profit at any outside company (i.e., you are a consulting firm or staffing firm), you do not qualify for this membership and instead, you should consider the other membership options. Q: Do Corporate Recruiters ever put a contingency agreement in place with HireAbility?A: The only agreement put in place with HireAbility is done so during the initial online registration. A HireAbility representative will contact you shortly thereafter to advise you on the best way to position yourself so that you attract the best possible recruiters and still realize the maximum savings per hire. When you post a job order on the Placement Exchange, you will dictate fee amounts, payment terms and guarantee terms of your choosing. When you locate a member of the network whose recruiting services you'd like to secure, it is up to you to enter into an agreement with that member. Your HireAbility representative will help you create a template agreement for such situations. When you hire a candidate provided by another member of the network, you will pay HireAbility the placement fee offered plus the 10% brokerage fee. You do not pay the other members themselves since money never changes hands directly between you and other members. The member who fills one of your job orders will be paid by HireAbility for the placement fee you originally posted on the Placement Exchange, as indicated in the agreement you have in place with that member. Q: How are guarantee periods handled when Corporate Recruiters hire a candidate provided by a HireAbility member on a direct hire basis?A: When you hire a candidate provided by a member of HireAbility Talent Trader, you will be invoiced by HireAbility for the agreed upon placement fee. HireAbility will be responsible for paying the member that filled your job opening. - The amount of the placement fee, guarantee terms and the date(s) that payment of the placement fees you pay on a placement must be established in writing with the HireAbility member whose recruiting services you are requesting (the "recruiting member"). This agreement should state that the placement fees will be paid to the 'recruiting member' by HireAbility, not by you. Even though HireAbility may be paid by you within a few weeks of the candidates start date, HireAbility will not make payment to the recruiting member unless such money is free and clear of a potential cash back refund. Knowing this may help you better position yourself to attract the best recruiters. For instance, do you really have to have a 90 day full money back guarantee? After all, who would wait 3 months to get paid for work they do today?
- This is why HireAbility recommends shorter guarantee periods and/or prorated refunds only. In the event a prorated cash back guarantee in affect, HireAbility will pay placement fees to the recruiting member on a monthly basis in a prorated fashion until the guarantee period has expired. This protects you in the event of a fall off, plus it allows the recruiter supporting you to have income from his work without an extensive waiting period. Your HireAbility Representative will advise you further on the best approach on this issue.
- However, as a Corporate Recruiter in HireAbility's network, you have full control over the fees you pay and the guarantee terms you dictate. Just remember to make it advantageous enough to other recruiters that they will be attracted to your job orders instead of those of another company.
