Hello!
It's hard to believe that 2004 is nearly over. We hope
that you were able to achieve
your goals this year and that we might find a way to
work together in the months ahead.
As we look to the future we are reflecting on the
recent past. The outstanding
response to our monthly "Best Practice" events
means that will we have more great
training sessions on the schedule in 2005. Many
thanks to all of the contributors
to our recruiting events and publications.
We have seen a steady increase in new job orders
and interview activity throughout the second
half of the year. We also have seen some markets
begin tightening on the candidate side of the
business.
Our forecast for 2005 is bright and filled with growth,
career opportunities, and success.
On behalf of everyone at HireAbility we wish you
happy holidays and all the best in 2005!

Capture More "Low Hanging Fruit" with HireAbility's New Back-Office for Gray-Collar Business Opportunities
|
|
Do you ever wonder how much revenue you could
generate in your best accounts if only you could
place temps and contractors in the "Gray Collar"
space? Do you ever wonder how much money you
are "leaving on the table?"
"Gray-collar" is one of those untapped niches usually
reserved for larger staffing companies with "national
vendor agreements" and an onsite presence. Usually
defined to cover light industrial, clerical, and other
high turnover positions, gray-collar business can be
extremely lucrative to recruiting agents, even those
that do not typically provide these services.
Hireability now offers W2 Employer of Record services
including payroll funding, to white-, gray- and blue-
collar markets through a partnership with Innovative
(See press release).
Most, if not all client companies have needs that fall
under the heading of gray-collar and those needs
require little sign-off, get filled quickly, and when
filled well, earn the loyalty and respect of client
companies that win exclusive long-term
relationships.

Leadership Interview (part II)

Thoughts on
Leadership
The following is Part II of a transcript of the
recent interview of Craig Silverman by Celine
Takatsuno for the University of San Francisco -
College of Professional Studies. (Part I is in the
November issue of the Recruiter News.)
(MCT) Do you find that there certain
principles that guide you as you lead?
(CS): I'm a person who is always going to
tell you what I think; I'm not going to beat around
the bush too much.
Being balanced between work and play is important
to me - I'm not all about work all the time. One of
my principles is to care about people, listen to people
and to get to know them.
There's a lot of opportunities that leaders have every
single day to impact the course of where they're
going, and sometimes it's better not to say anything,
and let cards play out. Another one of my principles
it to give people enough rope to get the job done and
sometimes to hang themselves. I've learned when
you need to tighten up and micro-manage, and the
times that you really have to sit back and let people
run with the ball. I've been pretty impressed over
the years by people that have really surprised me by
stepping up to meet a challenge. I've seen people
rise to an occasion, perform well and then go up to
another level and stay there.

Ask Miss J -- Fun & Advice

Ed. note: Miss J takes a break and shares a
holiday story and some great recipes in this issue!
How Miss J Spends
Christmas
The Js reside in a large country mansion just North of
Upper Boyleonthabum, deep in the Cotswolds,
England
and this is where Lady J (her actual title) returns and
rests from the rigors of being a staffing Agony Aunt in
these United States.
On Christmas Eve, all the relatives, including Sir
Humphrey, Lady Lavinia, Fitzallen, the three Labs and
all the aunts, uncles and cousins gather around the
Christmas tree in the great hall and listen to the
villagers sing carols. After bidding the villagers
farewell, charades are played and port and stilton
served. The usual family arguments arise such as
who will inherit the old pile when Humphrey and
Lavinia pass on to that great grouse hunting place in
the sky, who will change the bucket under the leaky
roof, and who will help Fortesque, the deaf, blind
butler, cook the turkey. When all the arguments die
down it is off to the village church for the midnight
service...
