Hello!
January was a big month for HireAbility as we
surpassed the 200-member mark. With such a large
team of corporate, independent, and staffing agency
recruiters working together, the HireAbility Recruiting
Network is filling direct hire and contract jobs, and
increasing our member agency fill ratios. The fastest
segment of growth has been in the Exchange
membership options (we have several from which to
choose).
Enjoy this issue of Recruiter News, as it is being read
now by more than 26,000 staffing professionals!
Spread the word about HireAbility to your recruiting
contacts to share in our referral bonus program, and
please join us for one of our upcoming Best Practices
events.
Many thanks for all of your continued support.

Recruiting Networks Get the Nod from Staffing Industry Review
|
|
The January/February 2006 issue of SI Review
features an article by managing editor, Jeff Reeder,
titled Networks Evolving. The article
acknowledges the part networks play in the overall
recruiting landscape. In it, Reeder examines the
various types of networks, how they interact, and
how they have been evolving, indeed. The opening
callout says it well:
"The spectrum of networks is evolving, with more
traditional staffing networks embracing the virtual
model, and the newer e-networks increasing features
such as training and intercommunication around such
areas as best practices."
Craig Silverman was interviewed for the
article, which had this to say about our HireAbility
Recruiter Network:
"Craig Silverman is EVP of HireAbility and has a long
background in staffing, including stints at Hall Kinion
and TMP/Hudson Highland Global. He maintains that
networks like his allow recruiters to gain access to
experience through recruiting support; find niche
expertise; grow their companies through better
geographic coverage; and seize many other
advantages.
Silverman says HireAbility offers services such as
training but the main attraction for recruiters is the
ability to increase their fill ratio. "Most reqs are not
filled," he says. He recommends that recruiters
looking to join a network look for staffing expertise,
what the commission rates are, the membership
options, any associated costs, if there is technology
provided or available (such as applicant tracking
systems), and what sort of partnerships are available
through the network. He also recommends that any
interested parties schedule a trial membership before
joining."

Ask Miss J -- Fun & Advice
|
|
Click on Miss J's photo to email your
recruitment questions and problems to her!
Dear Miss J,
I am so new to this whole recruiting thing that I am
still in the wrapping! I am having a blast, chatting to
people, messing around on the Internet,
playing “Hunt the Purple Squirrel” and just generally
having a good time. But there has to be more to it
than this and I really do need to start earning a
couple of George Washingtons. Tell me, Miss J, you
have been in the biz for nearly 17 years, what do
you
think is the key to success is in this business? How
do I change all my Georges into Bens?
Nelly from Needmore, Texas
Dear Nelly,
Well, Nelly, how am I going to answer this? Seeing
it’s Valentine’s Day why don’t I tell you a story to
illustrate the point I would like to make:
I have been conversing with you all for a couple of
years and feel comfortable that I can now speak
confidentially with you (psst! just don’t tell
anyone!). It’s going to come as a shock, but Lord B
is persona non grata, kicked to the curb, bona sera
Signor B, arrivederci B Boy – he is a goner! So this
being the month of amour, you find your friend Miss J
having done a little, how shall I say it,
housekeeping.
But as you scoop up the millions of Valentine cards
hitting the mat, arranging the blood red roses in
crystal vases and scoffing down two tons of
chockies, I want you to not concentrate on Miss J
and her broken heart but instead let’s concentrate
on
our love affair with recruiting.
