Q: What is the difference between the membership levels?A: HireAbility offers you three different membership levels. The first is your Basic Network Membership which allows members to network with peers through Talent Trader, HireAbility's recruiter networking platform. Members find all the common tools expected on a social and professional networking site, plus several staffing-specific features, notices of new training events and other free content. This membership carries no costs of any kind. The next step up is the Professional Membership. These members pay only $40.00 per month. In return, Professional Members receive access to the same networking tools as the Network Members. Additionally, these members have full access to the Placement Exchange on Talent Trader. This is the 'split placement network' section of the platform. By using the Placement Exchange, members can post and search candidates and job orders from other staffing firms as well as access job orders posted by hiring managers and internal/corporate recruiters that join the network. And unlike other split placement networks, members don't pay any fees to HireAbility when they 'split' a placement with another member of the network. So, there is no cost beyond the simple monthly fee!The other option is the Executive Membership; our most powerful membership option. Executive Members receive everything that the other two membership options provide. Additionally, Executive Members may receive the HireAbility member discounts on Hotjobs, Infogist, Zoominfo and an array of other tools, with savings up to 80%! Additionally, Executive Members receive unlimited job postings to HireAbility's job board feed which will post each of your job orders to hundreds of paid and niche specific job boards on your behalf through single online interface built into Talent Trader. Additionally, Executive Members have full access to HireAbility's own database of hundreds of thousands of candidate resumes. All of this for only $85.00 per month, with no brokerage charges on split placements! Click here to see a summary chart with all three membership levels laid out for easy comparison. Q: To what length of time am I committing if I join HireAbility?A: Membership with HireAbility is on a month-to-month basis. Once you join, your account automatically renews monthly until you cancel your membership. To cancel or change membership levels for your account, you need only provide a one week advanced notice of intent which can be done via email to support@hireability.com. Q: What happens if I cancel my membership while I am taking advantage of the member discounts on Hotjobs, Zoominfo and other services? A: If you cancel or downgrade your Executive Membership, you will lose any member discounts you are enjoying through HireAbility and your price for such services will revert to that vendor's standard pricing, without the member discount. Because the monthly savings on almost all of these services is substantially greater than the monthly cost of your HireAbility membership, you'll find that it won't make financial sense to cancel or downgrade your membership. Q: Can I change from one membership level to another?A: All HireAbility memberships are on a month to month basis and you can change levels at any time. Q: If I opt to upgrade my account to, how do I maintain the confidentiality of my clients and candidates on the Placement Exchange?A: All candidates and clients that you load into the Placement Exchange are automatically 'blinded'. This means that no other member has access to the name or contact information for your candidates or clients unless you have divulged this information. Once you are working with another member of the network, it is up to you to decide what information to share, when and with whom. Additionally, the Placement Exchange on Talent Trader has built-in tools which time and date stamp member interactions and candidate submittals between members as added protection. Q: How does HireAbility compare to other recruiting networks?A: HireAbility is different in many ways. First, HireAbility's network isn't just a chat room, and it isn't just a 'split network'. It's both! A basic network membership is free of charge and is a great way for new members to use the technology, interact with other professionals in the network, and explore the basic functionality of the resources available.Members can then upgrade their account to access the Placement Exchange to either split placements with other staffing firms or fill jobs posted by Corporate Recruiters. Access to the Placement Exchange requires an upgrade to one of two upgrade packages; each with different pricing and available tools. This flexibility in membership types is a key differentiator in making HireAbility different from other networks. One of the most important features of the Placement Exchange is that it is one of the largest split placement networks available that does not charge a fee when you 'split' a placement with another staffing firm. You pay only your monthly membership fees and that's it!Additionally, the benefits of an upgraded HireAbility membership go well beyond anything other networks offer. From free job postings to paid job boards, free candidate databases, substantial discounts on the best job boards and tools on the market, free trainings and content and much more; and all for just a small monthly membership fee. There is nothing like this available anywhere! Q: Does HireAbility provide access to any job boards or candidate databases?A: HireAbility has pre-negotiated special pricing with several of the best companies available to offer both premium job boards and the latest in recruiting tools to its members with discounts that go as high as 75% off of standard pricing. Some of the discounts offered include Hotjobs, Infogist, Buzzrecruiter.com, AccordingtoDanny.com and many more. You must upgrade to HireAbility's Executive Membership to take advantage of these discounts. Other limits may apply, based on each individual service provider. Additionally, Executive Members have access to the HireAbility candidate database with hundreds of thousands of resumes. Furthermore, if you have upgraded to an Executive Membership with HireAbility, you'll have an interface in Talent Trader which will cross post all of your job orders to hundreds of paid job boards free of charge. Job boards included in this service do not include Monster, Hotjobs or Careerbuilder. Instead, they tend to be more niche and/or geographic-specific boards. They type and location of job order you enter will determine the boards to which your jobs will be cross posted. Q: What services does HireAbility provide regarding contract placement employer of record services?A: For contract placements, HireAbility, via its third-party partner, TFI Resources ("TFI") can act as the employer of record, provide funding, collect time cards, process billing and payroll and manage the proper taxes and expenses. To get more information on the types of placements and costs, please visit our Contract Placement Information Center. Q: In what geographic areas and/or recruiting specialties is the Talent Trader focused?A: HireAbility's network members are based predominantly in North America and tend to be spread evenly across all major cities in the U.S. Essentially, HireAbility, although not a staffing or recruiting company, is a mirror of the staffing industry itself and has no single region or specialty of focus.Network members work in almost every area of recruiting specialty. HireAbility is open to recruiters in IT, Healthcare, Sales, Accounting, Manufacturing as well as many more niches. Furthermore, users of the Placement Exchange focus just as much on direct hire placements as contract placements. Q: Do I need to incorporate my business?A: There are many forms of business entities from S and C Corporations to Limited Liability Corporations (LLCs) as well as Partnerships and Sole Proprietorships. A working un-incorporated, self-employed person is a sole proprietor. In the US, the majority of small businesses are sole proprietorships. One of the main differences between corporations and sole proprietorships is the limitation of personal liability: incorporation separates the assets of the business from personal assets. As a sole proprietor, your personal income from the business and its profit are one and the same. Bernard Kamoroff in his book Small Time Operator (one of our suggested reads), provides helpful information on how to start and manage your small business. This book also includes a "wealth" of information on tax deductions that are available to sole proprietors. Business Filings, Inc., provides incorporation assistance if you choose to go that route. HireAbility strongly advises you speak with your accountant or attorney in this matter. Q: Do I need to be a DBA? A: DBA or "Doing Business As" is also known as "Fictitious Name" or an "Assumed Name" in some states. If you are self-employed and conduct business under a name other than your own personal name (e.g., Joe Smith Recruiting) then you are conducting business under a "DBA." Some states require you to file a permit for this name. This permit attempts to ensure that others in your state will not use the same name (thereby creating public confusion). Being a DBA is a personal choice, and it has no bearing on your legal status as a sole proprietor. If you wish to brand your business by marketing it in media publications, then a DBA may be the right choice. It's a decision, however, that you can make at any time. For more information on filing DBA statements, HireAbility suggests contacting your local town offices, or the Offices of your Secretary of State, as well as your attorney. Q: What about my health insurance? A: If COBRA coverage or enrolling in your spouse's health plan is not an available or viable option, then you can obtain your own coverage. As we mention in the section on business expenses, you can write-off the cost of your health insurance if you're self employed. So where do you find insurance? Here are two options, both have on-line quote calculators to help you estimate insurance costs: QuoteSmith and E-HealthInsurance. Q: What about business insurance?A: If you are an independent recruiter, it's a good idea to maintain Professional Liability - also called Errors and Omissions (E&O) - insurance coverage with limits of at least $100,000. Professional Liability coverage protects you from claims raised against your business for failure to perform as was originally agreed upon. As a sole-proprietor you can deduct the cost of this insurance from your earnings. One source for various kinds of business insurance you may wish to explore is CCBSureon-line quote calculator for your convenience. Q: I want to become an independent recruiter, but what do I do about my previous non-compete/non-solicit agreement? A: Some states do not permit restrictions on your ability to work, and some states do not enforce them; some will enforce non-solicit clauses. Courts in some states, in certain cases, have set the precedent of voiding employment agreements. If you have signed an employment agreement with a non-solicit and/or a non-compete clause, you will want to speak with an employment attorney and/or check out http://www.breakyournoncompete.com. We do not provide legal advice. We invite you to choose an option below, or simply sign up to begin receiving the benefits that only HireAbility can provide! |
